CATCHING & HITTING COACH

Carl played college baseball at Rio Hondo College and San Diego Christian College, and during COVID he caught more than 20 minor league and MLB pitchers in live at-bats. That time behind the plate shaped how he teaches hitting: he knows what good pitching looks like and what it takes to square it up. Today he trains baseball hitters from El Cajon and across East County San Diego, from first-year players to high schoolers getting ready for varsity.

Coaching approach

Every session starts with what your hitter needs most. Coach Carl films swings, breaks down the video and swing data with you, and gives your hitter one clear thing to work on before the next lesson.

WHAT WE WORK ON

A SWING THAT HOLDS UP IN GAMES.

Every lesson includes video of your swings, so you can see exactly what changed and what to work on at home.

Swing mechanics

Build a repeatable swing: load, stride, hip and shoulder sequence, and a bat path that stays through the zone longer.

Timing and pitch recognition

Pick up the ball earlier, read spin, and lay off pitches you can't drive so you swing at the ones you can.

Approach and data feedback

Have a plan in every count, then use video and swing data to track bat speed and contact quality over time.
